SOCIAL INITIATIVE IN DEVELOPMENT · MEXICO
INSTITUTIONAL PROPOSAL · IN DEVELOPMENT

1,000 days of support.
From pregnancy to age two.

For pregnant women or mothers facing vulnerability and their children under 24 months. FEROZ Social proposes to identify needs, connect direct funding to delivery organizations and coordinate continuity of care.

CURRENT STAGE

Institutional design and outreach. FEROZ Social is not yet an incorporated foundation or an authorized charitable recipient. The legal contracting party for the initial phase must be agreed; incorporation and any tax authorization would require the applicable procedures and decisions by competent authorities.

01 / PURPOSE

Fundable pathways.
A replicable method.

The initial result would be a ten-week study: ten municipal profiles, validation of needs and service supply, and two project dossiers with documented budgets. Subsequent operations depend on agreements, provider capacity and funding.

Expand existing services

Request technical and financial proposals from organizations with relevant capacity to improve services or expand coverage. Distinguish existing capacity, additional capacity and costs by stage.

Create new capacity

Where insufficient supply is verified, explore a new center, outreach team or another feasible model with a capable and willing organization. Seek up to three comparable proposals where eligible organizations exist; document refusals and missing offers.

Replicate with evidence

Document criteria, data profiles, service verification, budget templates, indicators and lessons to adapt the method across Mexico. This is a national vision, not existing nationwide operations.

02 / POPULATION

Vulnerability.
Need for support.

The target population is pregnant women or mothers facing vulnerability and their children under 24 months. Participation must be voluntary and respect decisions, dignity and confidentiality.

Beyond income

Review poverty and financial insecurity, violence, abandonment, support networks and service barriers. Distinguish aggregate public indicators from individual needs assessed by professionals.

Continuity by stage

Entry may occur during pregnancy or after birth. Agree services, referrals and follow-up according to need, age and actual capacity. The 1,000-day horizon does not guarantee that duration for every family.

Safeguarding and competence

Qualified organizations and professionals deliver care. Include child safeguarding, consent, complaints and referrals for violence or emergencies. The initiative does not replace medical services.

03 / GEOGRAPHY

Ten candidate municipalities.
Gaps to verify.

Exploratory shortlist: Ocosingo, León, Acapulco de Juárez, Chilón, Chimalhuacán, Chamula, Toluca, Iztapalapa, Puebla and Las Margaritas. This is not a ranking of the largest unserved populations and does not establish absence of services.

Absolute population need

Estimate the target population using available official data, documenting dates and definitions. Do not confuse women and children with households or count families twice.

Supply and actual gaps

Verify service reach, capacity, eligibility, opening hours, waiting lists, referrals and accessibility with organizations and public services. No online address does not establish no coverage; public services are not presumed deficient.

Limits and final selection

Compare magnitude, vulnerability, available capacity and feasibility. Ages 0–2 include children who have turned two and do not equal under 24 months. Applying a general poverty rate to that age group does not measure an unserved target population.

04 / ORGANIZATIONS

Potential providers.
Distinct roles.

Complementary capabilities would be explored. Names do not imply a partnership, endorsement, brand permission or commitment to participate or fund.

VIFAC

Mater Filius

Explore maternal accommodation and support. Confirm eligibility, length of stay, post-birth follow-up and budgets for expansion or new capacity. Official source

Un Kilo de Ayuda

Explore child nutrition and development. Confirm eligibility for children under 24 months, services, geographic reach and referrals from other organizations. Official source

05 / FUNDING

Direct funding.
Clear responsibilities.

The funder and provider agree the project, contract and transfer resources directly. The provider delivers care, manages funds and reports their use. FEROZ connects and coordinates within an agreed scope; it does not receive or manage service grants.

Provider budgets

Request initial investment, annual operating costs, secured resources, funding gap, additional capacity, schedule and sustainability. Compare assumptions, quantities, costs, responsibilities and conditions.

Potential funding sources

Fundación Carlos Slim, Fundación FEMSA, Fundación Compartamos and other compatible funders are potential contacts, subject to their policies and calls. Their acceptance of this model is not assumed; they are not confirmed partners or funders.

Project agreements

The provider and funder define the conditions of support. FEROZ facilitates connections and agreed follow-up, with documented responsibilities.

06 / TIMING

Ten weeks.
Defined deliverables.

Proposed schedule begins upon contracting and availability of inputs. Third-party responses and quotations are outside FEROZ’s control; limitations and adjustments must be documented.

Weeks 1–3 · Assessment

Agree definitions and methodology. Prepare ten municipal profiles with sources, dates, vulnerability indicators, identified supply and evidence limitations.

Weeks 4–7 · Validation and budgets

Contact existing providers and expansion candidates. Verify reach, capacity, needs and willingness. Request proposals for expansion and new capacity; record responses, refusals and outstanding items.

Weeks 8–10 · Decision

Deliver ten updated profiles, an organization and institutional contact matrix, comparison of received budgets and two project dossiers. If viable offers are unavailable, document the gap and next steps without fabricated quotes or promised openings.

07 / MEASUREMENT

Verifiable contribution.
No promised impact.

Agree baselines, targets, sources, responsibilities and reporting before execution. Separate study deliverables, funding connections and care outcomes. Service targets belong to the approved project.

Connections and delivery

Record contacts, valid proposals, agreements and committed, transferred and spent resources separately. Document responsibilities and progress without double counting.

Care and quality

Count unique women and children, households and services separately. Measure completed referrals, follow-up by cohort and stage, timeliness, experience and safeguarding. Agree well-being measures with specialists.

Transparency and limits

Report progress and limitations without unsupported causal attribution. Do not claim lives saved, abortions prevented or monetized social returns without valid methods. Coordination is not a financial audit.

08 / INSTITUTIONAL CONTACT

Connect resources.
Sustain support.

We seek to connect funders and organizations to advance continuity of support for pregnant women or mothers facing vulnerability and their children under two.

ORIGIN OF THE INITIATIVE

FEROZ Social stems from FEROZ Capital’s commitment to contributing to society. The initiative proposes to connect institutions and coordinate capabilities to strengthen continuity of care.

HOW SERVICE FUNDING WOULD FLOW

Funders would transfer service funding directly to the foundations and nonprofits providing care. FEROZ Social would identify needs, facilitate connections and coordinate follow-up; it would not receive or manage the resources allocated to those services.

Initiative in development. No confirmed partnerships or operating care services announced. This site accepts no donations.
